Course Description

This course will provide the student with basic instructional knowledge, methodology and techniques necessary to meet the standard of NFPA 1041, Standard Fire Service Instructor Professional Qualifications. This knowledge is necessary to develop skills for preparing and presenting training for personnel of fire and emergency services organizations through a variety of methods. 

Course Materials:

Jones and Bartlett, Fire and Emergency Services Instructor (3rd Edition)     

NFPA 1403 (2018 Edition)

Minimum 4GB USB Drive

***Student to supply his/her own materials; the materials are required for the class and need to be with the student on the first day of class.                                                                                                                                                                    

                              

Prerequisites

  1. In the preceding seven (7) years, shall have been certified for at least five (5) years as a firefighter.
  2. Shall possess a current and valid firefighter certificate that is in good standing.
  3. Shall pass the fire instructor knowledge examination as set forth in paragraph (A) of rule 4765-21-03 of the Administrative Code, taken within one year prior to the start date of a fire instructor course
