Course Description

This 32-hour course is based on NFPA 1006, Standard for Technical Rescuer Professional Qualifications, and NFPA 1670 Standard on Operations and Training for Technical Search and Rescue Incidents. The course covers the required hardware and basic rope systems, to include lowering, hauling, and belay systems.  Rappel and patient packaging are also covered in this 4-day course.

Students must meet the following requirements to receive a certificate of completion:
•           Attend all class sessions
•           Pass the final written exam with a 70% or higher
•           Pass the final practical test

Class Dates:
October 2-5, 2023; 8:00 am to 5:00 pm each day (Set up and stow-away time required and may extend hours)

Class Material:
-Students will be required to print the material from an electronic version. CONTACT THE PROGRAM COORDINATOR UPON COMPLETION OF REGISTRATION TO RECEIVE THE MATERIAL
-Students shall provide their own gloves (utility/leather gloves are appropriate) and eye protection
-Dress accordingly for weather conditions
-Lunch and beverages are NOT provided

- NIMS IS 200 (Copy to be provided the first day of class)
- Minimum Hazardous Material Awareness (Copy to be provided the first day of class)
