Course Description

The Firefighter Physical Assessment Preparation Course is designed to give an overview of the Firefighter Physical Assessment Test. This preparation course breaks down each testing station with explanation and instruction on proper techniques to improve overall performance on the test. Students of this course will be given the opportunity to practice each station individually. Participants will take the Firefighter Physical Assessment Test during the first session, and then again during the last session to gauge improvement.

Students will be required to attend all four sessions:

  • Session 1 – Overview of physical agility and run the full course
  • Session 2 – Breakdown and practice Stair Climb, Hose Hoist, and Keiser Sled
  • Session 3 – Breakdown and practice Keiser Sled, Hose Drag and Manikin Drag
  • Session 4 – Run through the full course

Instructor Scott Bauer is a regular participant nationally in the Scott Firefighter Combat Challenge competitions. Scott was the 2016 National Champion (over 50 group) in the Scott Firefighter Combat Challenge and the 2012 National Champion (over 40 group) in the Scott Firefighter Combat Challenge.
