Course Description

This 4-hour live virtual course provides information on the recognition of common medical emergencies and emergency protocol including prevention, management, and response in a dental office setting. You will learn to identify potential risks for emergencies reported in patient medical and dental histories. We will discuss recognition of symptoms, first aid treatment, and possible outcomes for patients in emergency situations. This course meets the guidelines as outlined in the statutes of the Ohio Dental Practice Act required for a dental hygienist, dental assistant, and expanded function dental auxiliary to practice when the dentist is not physically present in the office.
