XFIR-5037 - Paramedic Refresher/Transition
Course Description
The Paramedic Refresher course provides theory and practical skills training and review at the paramedic level and follows the objectives as listed in the Ohio Administrative Code. This course provides for regular evaluation of student performance and achievement through written and practical testing. This course may be used for any of the following:
- Prerequisite for completion of National Registry Testing
- Continuing education for NR or state of Ohio
- Transition course to maintain NR certification
This course will consist of 48 hours (12 hours pediatrics, 8 hours trauma, 9 hours medical emergencies, 1 hour dementia care, 4 hours geriatrics, 6 hours cardiology, 4 hours airway/ventilation, 2 hours EMS operations and 2 hours obstetrics/gynecology). These hours will be obtained in 8 hours of lecture class, 4 hours of skill refreshment and the remainder covered in homework.
Course Dates
Students must attend 3 total days a follows: 1/14 -or- 1/28 AND 2/11 -or- 2/25 AND 3/4 -or- 3/18

Refund Policy: Workforce Training students who wish to withdraw from classes must notify us at 330-494-6170 x 4887 two or more business days before the start of both online and/or face-to-face classes for a full refund. If course delivery has begun (online or face-to-face), a refund will not be issued.
Cancellation Policy: The College reserves the right to cancel any course due to insufficient enrollment. In the event the course is cancelled due to low enrollment, a full refund will be issued.
