XFIR-5037 - Paramedic Refresher/Transition

Course Description

The Paramedic Refresher course provides theory and practical skills training and review at the paramedic level and follows the objectives as listed in the Ohio Administrative code. This course provides for regular evaluation of student performance and achievement through written and practical testing.  This course may be used for any of the following:
-Prerequisite for completion of National registry testing
-Continuing education for NR or state of Ohio
-Transition course to maintain NR certification

This will be a 48-hour course.  Included in this course is 12 hours of pediatrics, 8 hours of trauma, 9 hours of medical emergencies, 1 hour of dementia care, 4 hours of geriatrics, 6 hours of cardiology, 4 hours of airway and ventilation, 2 hours of EMS operations and 2 hours of obstetrics and gynecology.  These hours will be obtained in 8 hours of lecture in class, 4 hours of skill refreshment and the rest will be covered in homework.

Course Dates 
Students must attend 3 total days as follows:
1/30 or 2/6
AND
2/22 or 2/27
AND
3/5 or 3/19
